This is a story about imagination, courage and friendship and finding your place in the world.
Sometimes we just have to wait a little longer to find ourselves and our frienships.
A story with a happy ending and it will make you smile from ear to ear.
Come to the BPS Library to borrow this book.
We have a signed copy by the illustrator!
We will be reading, 'The Truck Cat' by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell. It is a book about identity and home. Yes, wear your pyjamas to school and bring something that connects you to your home. Here are some suggestions, a teddy bear, a soft toy, a blanket, jewellery ( not too precious) a scarf or socks from grandma. Something to think about!
Get ready to join in on the fun as we read simultaneously along with schools, libraries and other work places around Australia, 'The Truck Cat'.
It will be another day of fun at BPS!
Brighton Primary School is very excited once again to be a Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge School.
Students will be coming home soon with theirNEW individual username and passcodes to login. Last year login details will not work!
All students across Prep to Year Six have been registered and are welcome to join the Premiers’ Reading Challenge.
How to log in online:
A series of links to help you navigate the challenge site can be accessed on the Department of Education website (including adding books, such as home readers or eBooks) can be accessed at: https://www.vic.gov.au/premiers-reading-challenge
It is also recommended that books are entered progressively onto the system throughout the Challenge. The school Coordinator will verify books throughout the Challenge, which will be done on a weekly basis, but please keep in mind that the system updates overnight.
To be successful in the challenge you must complete the following requirements:
Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students can read independently or ‘experience’ books for the Challenge. ‘Experience’ a book can include a shared reading, listening, reading along and being read to by teachers, aides, family members, or other students.
Challenge Booklists can be accessed on your ‘dashboard’ and also at:
https://www.vic.gov.au/premiers-reading-challenge-book-lists
Please note: The Premiers' Reading Challenge is not managed by Brighton Primary School. If you are experiencing any technical difficulties, please contact the Premiers' Reading Challenge support line; Email: readingchallenge@education.vic.gov.au
