Welcome Back to Term 2!

We’ve had a great start to the term, beginning with ANZAC Day commemorations. Students explored the significance of ANZAC Day by reading a range of stories and creating their own reflective pieces. we applied our measurement skills to follow a recipe and bake delicious ANZAC biscuits. Each class also enjoyed a creative ANZAC craft session—designing a colourful backdrop for a soldier silhouette with Mrs Pettigrove, using perspective techniques to paint poppies with Miss Stark, and crafting felt poppies with Miss Maxine.

In literacy, our focus has been on identifying the features of information texts, helping students understand how facts are presented and organised. In mathematics, we have been working with money—adding and subtracting amounts, calculating change, and comparing prices to build real-world problem-solving skills.

As part of Economics and Business this term in Humanities, students are participating in our Earn and Learn program—a fun and engaging way to explore financial literacy, economics, and decision-making. Students earn classroom currency by demonstrating positive behaviours, completing tasks, and contributing to the learning community. They can then use their earnings to make a "purchase" in a classroom economy. Through this program, students learn about earning, saving, spending, and budgeting. They also develop critical thinking and negotiation skills as they make choices about how to manage their money in a simulated real-world environment.

Congratulations to our Student Achievers
