HAPE WEEK REPORT: Fun, Fitness and Community Spirit!

They say a picture speaks a thousand words—and this week, it certainly told a story of sunshine, smiles, and community connection. St Mary MacKillop College came alive with colour, energy, and laughter as students and staff embraced Health and PE Week by prioritising their physical and mental wellbeing.
Throughout the week, a wide range of engaging activities encouraged everyone to get involved and have fun. From fast-paced games of table tennis, dodgeball, badminton, and downball, to the calm creativity of mindfulness colouring and strategic chess matches, there was something for everyone. The footy kicking competition drew plenty of friendly rivalry, while the staff pickleball tournament offered light-hearted competition and laughs. Lawn games provided a relaxed, social atmosphere, and the week wrapped up beautifully with a coffee and breakfast morning for Year 12 students and staff on Friday—an energising way to celebrate connection and community.
A huge thank you to all the students who participated with such enthusiasm, and to the dedicated Health and PE (HAPE) team for organising and running a week full of variety, movement, and fun. The week was also strongly supported by our Year 12 VM PDS students, whose leadership and efforts behind the scenes helped make every event a success.
The week finished on a high with the inaugural Staff vs Year 12 Netball Rivalry Match, a spirited and entertaining game that brought the whole school together in laughter and cheer—a fitting finale to a memorable week!
Health and PE Week was a fantastic reminder of the power of movement, connection, and fun in supporting our overall well-being. Here's to keeping the momentum going all year round!
