What’s Been Happening in PE This Week?
This week in Physical Education, students across all year levels have been busy developing their skills and preparing for upcoming events.
The Grade 3/4 and 5/6 students have been hard at work training for the school Cross Country which is on the 15th of May (details in compass note, please sign consent!), focusing on building endurance and improving their running techniques. At the same time, they’ve been beginning to refine their netball skills, including passing and pivoting.
Meanwhile, the Grade 1/2 students have been learning the fundamentals of basketball, practising dribbling and shooting to improve their coordination on the court.
Our Foundation students have been engaging in the Perceptual Motor Program, focusing on balance, coordination, and fundamental movement skills through fun and active exercises.
It’s been a week full of activity and learning for all our students, and we can’t wait to see them apply their skills in upcoming events!
Student Learning -5/6
In Grade 5/6, we are working very hard on improving our literacy skills by having personalised reading and writing goals. Here are some examples of our goal work, as well as our creative writing.
In Year 5/6, we have been exploring different multiplication strategies to develop comfortability and the ability to think flexibly with complicated multiplication equations.
Today we looked at the 'double one side, half the other' strategy, to make complex questions less confronting.
