PLAYGROUP

We are thrilled that our playgroup is becoming more and more popular with preschool siblings, incoming 2027 Kindy and even parishioners with little ones coming to playgroup. The friendships that are being formed and the sense of community among parents and carers is just wonderful.

If you know anyone who would be keen to be part of playgroup, we get together every Thursday during the term at 9.30am and enjoy free play, morning circle, book reading, followed by an activity after.

We are also lucky to have a few Year 5 students (2027 buddies) come and join playgroup.

For any questions, please reach out to Ms. Ma at ma.becina@syd.catholic.edu.au.

On August 27, Thursday, instead of our usual playgroup session, attendees are invited to watch our Book Week Parade happening at the hall from 9:00am. Playgroup children may also dress up for book week if you wish.

CLASS PRAYER

On August 11, the Year 4 had their class prayer and they shared about the different forms of prayer.

We also participated in a version of Be Filled Again where we learnt that praying is simply talking to God where we demonstrate A.C.T.S. – Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication.

Thank you to all of the parents who joined us.

Year 5 will have their Class Prayer on Monday, 31st August, at 2.45pm.

WOMEN’S MOVIE NIGHT

Last week the family educators of Botany-Randwick hosted a Women’s Movie Night featuring Holy Days. We were delighted to have mums (and grandmums) across various Catholic Primary Schools in the area take a night off to enjoy a heartwarming adventure movie that was also perfect to celebrate the feast of St. Mary Mackillop.

One mum even said – "It was so nice to take time out and spend it with other mums and meet family educators from other Catholic primary schools that share our same values. The private movie screening gave an intimate setting that allowed us to share a prayer together which was so lovely."

Our Year 4-6 students are continuously learning more about the Eucharist through St. Carlo Acutis. This is perfect timing for the upcoming International Eucharistic Congress in 2028.

Enjoy reading through the reflections and be inspired by what our students have to say in our Called to be Holy padlet – https://padlet.com/mabecina/called-to-be-holy-fhzxn9gfi0x45xf9

We are also happy to share that an exhibition of St. Carlo Acutis’ Eucharistic Miracles is coming to St. Aidan’s on October 16 and 17 (Friday and Saturday). We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity. We will provide more details once available.

CCSP 2026 PARENT CONFERENCE

Take this opportunity to learn, reflect and connect with other parents in the upcoming parent conference this year, Supporting Families: Working Together in a Modern World where important conversations about supporting our children and families to flourish will take place.

It promises to be an engaging and value-packed day with expert presenters who are wanting to help us in our parent journey. They will be talking about topics that are highly relevant in today’s day and age such as consent, respectful relationships, cybersafety, building resilience, managing anxiety, screens and brain development and supporting learning at home and at school.

There will be a lot of time for discussion and connecting with other parents and breaks where we can enjoy delicious food and relax – All this for only $30 a ticket!
