SCS NEW BRANDING

Danielle Cronin, SCS Executive Director has introduced the new branding for SCS. Danielle states "I am proud to share with you the renewed visual identity for Sydney Catholic Schools, which reflects a bold and invigorated expression of who we are and who we are becoming together. The logo is not a departure from our tradition, but a hope-filled continuation of it."

Our new logo draws its inspiration from the central rose window of St Mary’s Cathedral, the spiritual heart of our Archdiocese and one of the most enduring symbols of the Catholic Church in Sydney.

FAMILY PARISH MASS

Last Saturday’s Family Parish Mass was a truly beautiful celebration of faith and community. It was wonderful to see so many families come together, and a special opportunity to introduce Deacon James to our parish and school community. Our heartfelt thanks to the students in the choir and to Mrs Shaw for her dedicated leadership. We also extend our gratitude to all students who joined in the recessional hymn. Your voices lifted our celebration. 

Thank you, as always, to Fr Allan for your welcoming presence and the steady leadership you bring to our faith filled community. Students and ther families thoroughly enjoyed sharing a pizza dinner together after Mass.

BULLYING: NO WAY WEEK

This week, our school took part in Bullying No Way Week, Australia’s leading initiative for bullying prevention in schools. It provided an important opportunity for us to strengthen our shared understanding of bullying behaviours and remind students of the strategies they can use to prevent them.

The 2026 theme, Small Acts, Big Impact, guided our conversations with students. We explored the idea that bullying prevention is everyone’s responsibility, and that even the smallest actions can make a meaningful difference. Simple choices such as, someone, speaking up, or showing kindness, can change someone’s day and help build a safer, more connected community.

At St Aidan’s, our goal is to nurture environments where every student feels they belong, diversity is celebrated, and bullying is never accepted. Throughout Bullying No Way Week and beyond, we encourage students, families and the wider community to engage in small acts that collectively create a big positive impact.

Students participated in a range of discussions and activities that highlighted the importance of continuing to build a safe and supportive school environment. These conversations are ongoing at St Aidan’s, where student safety and wellbeing remain a central priority.

P & F MEETING

Thank you to all of the parents who attended our P & F Meeting on Tuesday night. We appreciate your time and your ongoing support. Thank you also to our Class Coordinators Romina and Charlotte for all you do to support our school and our community. 

Please see below a letter that has been written by the P & F with the support of the school as a result of a discussion at the P & F Meeting with regard to drop off and pick up and the safety of our students moving forward.

MESSAGE FROM THE P& F 

DROP OFF AND PICK UP - KEEPING OUR STUDENTS SAFE

Dear Parents/Carers,

With our central concern always being the safety and wellbeing of our students, we kindly ask all parents and carers to support safe practices during drop off and pick up, particularly while significant local roadworks are underway. These works have made the surrounding streets busier than usual, and your cooperation helps ensure every child can arrive and leave school safely.

With significant local roadworks currently underway, the St Aidan’s P&F and school staff appreciate that drop off and pick up may be more challenging than usual. We are sharing a few suggestions that may help keep traffic moving and, most importantly, keep our children and families safe.

• Please drop off and pick up as safely and quickly as possible, where practical, so that other families can move through the area too.

• Please take extra care at the kerbside by avoiding double parking, parking across driveways and following all road signs and parking restrictions. This will help keep everyone safe and avoid unnecessary parking fines.

• Consider adjusting your usual pick up time to help spread out traffic around the 3:10 pm bell. Parents and teachers have noticed that parking is considerably easier between 3:20pm and 3:30 pm.

• Where possible, consider walking or carpooling to help reduce the number of cars around the school.

• There are also a number of nearby car parks with multiple spaces, including:

  - 18 Green St

  - Along the middle of Anzac Parade

  - Pacific Square

  - Maroubra Plaza – corner of Boyce Rd and Anzac Parade

Thank you for your patience, consideration and cooperation. By making small adjustments as a community, we can help make drop off and pick up a little easier for everyone and, most importantly, support the safety and wellbeing of our children.

SHOWGROUP PERFORMS - OPERA HOUSE

On Sunday, our talented Showgroup students had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Sydney Opera House. An unforgettable experience for them and a proud moment for our whole school community. They shone on stage with confidence, representing St Aidan’s with excellence.

Congratulations to our students for their hard work, commitment and courage. Opportunities like this don’t happen without exceptional guidance, and we extend our thanks to Miss Hinds and Miss Siapkas for their creativity, dedication and unwavering support. Their passion makes experiences like this possible.
