Principal’s Message

Dear parents and community members,

It was a wonderful day last Friday, 21st August, when we welcomed grandparents and special visitors from both near and far to our school. Fr Abmar celebrated Mass, which was followed by morning tea and classroom visits. The joy on the faces of both the students and their grandparents was terrific to see as they spent quality time together. As it was National Science Week, activities included science experiments, colouring, craft, and interviews comparing school life across generations. The highlight of the day was a paper plane challenge to see who could create the most aerodynamic design!

We would like to wish our Athletics team the best of luck as they compete at the Polding Athletics Championships in Glendale on Friday, 11th September. Ellie, Ivy, Georgie, and Harry—we are so proud of you! We know you will represent Sacred Heart School with great passion and sportsmanship, and we will all be tuning in to cheer you on!

This week we open expressions of interest in our 'Little Stars Transition Program'. The program is designed for children enrolling in Kindergarten in 2028. 

The transition sessions are held each Friday of the school term, beginning in March. The lessons prepare students for Kindergarten, with a focus on play-based learning and fine motor skills. 

If you know of anyone who may be interested in enrolling their child please share with them the flyer attached, or which can be found on our Facebook page.

On Friday, 4th September, Sacred Heart will be holding our annual Father's Day Breakfast! Bacon and egg rolls, along with a hot cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, will be on the menu from 8am. We hope all the Dads, Pops, Pas, Grandfathers, and special men in our Sacred Heart community are able to join us so we can wish them a very Happy Father's Day!

For the next four weeks, I will be taking leave to do some traveling. In my absence, Mr. Tony O’Donnell and Mr. Tim Unwin will each be spending two weeks at Sacred Heart. As part of the ACS Mission and Learning Team, both Tony and Tim have worked at our school previously and are looking forward to spending more time with our students and staff. I know our school community will make them both feel very welcome!
