From the Principal

  Patrick Green

Dear Parents,

Year 5/6 Camp

It was truly a pleasure to accompany our Year 5 and 6 students on their recent excursion to Sovereign Hill, where we had the privilege of immersing ourselves in the Camp experience.

I was impressed by our students, who exhibited an exceptional enthusiasm for exploring key aspects of our history. Their engagement in the activities was both vibrant and inspiring. Rather than merely share my own reflections, I invited the students to contribute their personal highlights for this week's newsletter. I warmly encourage you to visit the Year 5/6 Camp page in this edition, where you can learn more about their enriching and memorable experience.

Arriving on Time for School

As a parent who has navigated the busy mornings of getting children ready for school, I fully understand the challenges that come with family routines. While we appreciate that occasional delays are unavoidable, we kindly request that all students arrive on time so they can begin their school day in a calm and focused manner. A smooth start to the day plays a crucial role in setting a positive tone for learning, ensuring that students are settled and ready to engage. To maintain this routine, we aim for all children to be in their classrooms by 8:55 a.m.

Timely arrival also minimizes disruptions to the rest of the class, who have already started their day. For your convenience, either I or another teacher will be on duty from 8:30 am to assist with student arrival should they access the crossing. Once the main building door is closed, any late arrivals must enter through the office, where they will be marked as late, with a time stamp for both attendance and child safety purposes. We greatly appreciate your support in helping us create a smooth and consistent start for all students.

After-School Pick-Up

Students are dismissed at 3:30 pm, and either I or another teacher will be on duty at the school crossing until 3:45 pm. If your child is not collected by this time, they will be escorted to the office for safety and supervision. To support families who may be delayed, we strongly encourage you to register with Camp Australia, so their after-school care services can be utilized should you anticipate being late. If your child remains uncollected by 3:50 pm, they will be taken to Camp Australia, where fees  apply.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a smooth and safe start and end to each school day for all our students.

Enjoy your weekend!
