Dear Families,
We hope you found it beneficial to have the opportunity to talk to your child’s teacher at the recent Getting to Know You interviews. It is widely known that a positive relationship and open communication between school and home is a key predictor of student success. We encourage you to maintain open lines of communication across the school year, to share when things are going well and to reach out if things are getting a little bumpy. Your child’s classroom teacher should always be the first point of contact, but please know that you can reach out to our Wellbeing Team for advice, or any other member of our school’s Leadership Team. Key contact details are listed below.
If you have feedback about our Getting to Know You interviews, please send me an email at the address below or speak to a member of the School Advisory Council. The SAC members will be present at our upcoming School Picnic on Thursday March 6th, with the first meeting scheduled for April 3rd. I have listed their names below for your information.
Rachel Bingham, Simone Watson, Andrew O’Callaghan, PC Grobler, Sarah Loversidge, Terri Hill, Kerryn Green and Kat Taylor.
Further in this newsletter you will get a chance to learn a bit more about our 2025 School Captains. They are full of energy and ideas and I am very much looking forward to seeing what they will get done this year. I’ll tell you one thing, they won’t be needing much input from me other than to get out of their way and let them go!
If you have a child beginning school in 2026, please let Emma - ecoulson@sasunbury.catholic.edu.au know so that we can get a head start on enrolment numbers. Information about our Open Day Tours was released earlier this week. If you know of families who might be interested in joining the St Anne’s Community, please direct them to our booking link at trybooking.com/czdep to secure a place at one of the tours in March.
Finally, our unofficial theme for 2025 is “At St Anne’s we…” Each class was encouraged to finish the sentence by describing something about who we are and what we do. This week I have included the examples from Prep -Year Two. I’m sure you’ll agree that our Junior students have very succinctly captured the essence of what we are all about.
Warm regards and God’s Blessings,
Stephen
