International Women's Day Breakfast

Wyndham College proudly hosted an inspiring International Women’s Day Breakfast, bringing together our Nirimba Education Precinct partners, including Nirimba TAFE, St John Paul II Catholic College, and our Collegiate schools, Seven Hills and Quakers Hill High Schools.
Our esteemed guest speakers, Farzana Farzana and Juanita McMillian, shared their powerful stories and insights on resilience, empowerment, and the importance of creating opportunities for women and young people.
Farzana, a former refugee and member of the Hazara ethnic minority, has dedicated her career to improving settlement, education, and employment outcomes for culturally diverse communities. Her work with UNICEF, Navitas Skilled Futures, and now as the FICT Team Leader at STARTTS NSW, has made a lasting impact on refugee and migrant communities. Her journey highlighted the strength and determination needed to overcome barriers and advocate for change.
Juanita McMillian, a Wellbeing and Engagement Counsellor at Wyndham College, shared her passion for supporting young people through mental health challenges. With experience in Federal Government agencies and a deep understanding of family patterns and personal growth, Juanita uses a multidisciplinary approach to empower individuals to break cycles, navigate challenges, and thrive.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme encouraged us all to reflect on the role we play in fostering inclusivity and empowerment. The morning was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate, connect, and be inspired by the stories and experiences of remarkable women making a difference in our communities.
We thank our guest speakers and our Precinct and Collegiate partners for sharing this special occasion with us.
