Year 12 Focus Week

Please see the attached Focus Week Schedule. Assessment Notifications will be issued two weeks in advance of Focus Week.

During this period:

  • Students will attend only for their assessments or to study in the library or work on a major project.
  • There will be no scheduled lessons. Instead, scheduled exams and assessment tasks will take place.
  • Full school uniform is required, and phones must be off and away during assessment periods.
  • Students with Major Projects must check in with their teacher to have their Body of Work progress assessed. We strongly encourage students to use their free time during Focus Week to refine and complete their Major Works.

We appreciate your support in ensuring Year 12 students remain focused and prepared for their HSC success. Please encourage your child to adhere to these expectations and take full advantage of the support available at school.

Year 12 Assessment Handbook changes

There are key updates to the Year 12 Assessment Handbook. These are important changes to ensure fairness in our assessment process. Please note the following important changes:

Attendance before and on the day of assessments

Students must not be absent from school the day before or the morning of an assessment task without a valid doctor’s certificate. This is to prevent any unfair advantage.

Illness/Misadventure Process

All Illness/Misadventure applications will be reviewed by the Head Teacher (HT) of the subject. Students will be informed whether their application has been approved or declined.

Missing an Assessment Task

If you miss a task, you MUST provide a doctor’s certificate and/or complete an Illness Misadventure form.

Completion of Missed Tasks

You MUST see the HT the very next school day upon your return to complete the task. Failure to do so will result in a mark of zero.

Updated copies of the Assessment Handbook will be distributed soon. Please review these updates carefully to avoid penalties.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
