I love the beginning of each year as students start their journey with us here at Cunderdin Ag. It is so lovely to meet new families and the Year 11s themselves. While the Year 12s have returned with funny holiday stories and excitement (and nerves) that they are in their final year of school.
The first two weeks are always the most difficult for Year 11s as they have information overload and are getting accustomed to being away from home. Please remember the Residential Staff are here to support you and there are no silly questions. Call the 24/7 Residential phone number 0427 449 613 if you are concerned, your child is worried or unwell or if you need to let us know anything that will help us settle your student into boarding. The Residential Staff and/or I will be in contact in the first two weeks to welcome you to our big Cunderdin Ag family.
2025 kicked off with Orientation and then a visit to the local pool, which was very well received, as it offered a respite from the extreme heat we have been experiencing across the state. It allowed the Year 11s a chance to relax and get to know their peers, before heading off to Adventure World for another day of fun on Tuesday.
A big thank you to our Student Councillors who assisted throughout the 2 days to assist our Year 11s. Particularly organising the "get to know you" events held when the Year 12s returned.
Leave
Please remember all REACH leave must be in by Wednesday evening at 8pm to assist us with catering and planning for the weekend.
The Year 12 self-drivers have been great in following the Student Vehicle Permission policy of returning before 7:30pm on Sunday. It is so wonderful to see all students getting ready for school on Sunday evenings and setting themselves up for success.
Year 12 Leavers jumpers
The Year 12 Leavers jumpers have arrived, and they are fabulous. We shall distribute them Wednesday through to Friday this week.
The Year 11 and 12 Ball Date is confirmed for Saturday 30 August at Beaumonde on The Point, Perth. We are about to set up the Student Ball Commitee to assist us with planning music, decorations and themes.
Year 12 Skippers Tickets Opportunity
On Saturday 15 March 2025, we have booked 10 places for Year 12 students to get their Skippers Ticket. The student must have their Learners license, be prepared to stay in for the weekend or parents can drive to Dawesville by 8.30am Saturday morning. The cost is $300 and there is study and online quizzes the student will need to do. This is a great opportunity to get another ticket that can last a lifetime. All EOI to Ms KV by Friday 28 February to allow for all paperwork required.
Year 11s will have the opportunity in Term 4.
