Laptop Program - Temporary Loans

In 2025, the ICT Department will continue to prioritise devices within the Supported Laptop program for temporary replacement purposes. Consequently, students utilising unsupported BYOD devices may experience limited access to temporary loan laptops compared to previous years. Each request for a temporary loan laptop will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis, subject to device availability. Additionally, loan devices are required in other areas of the school, which may impact their availability. This information is outlined in the KWS BYOD Policy-2025.

Introducing the Student BYOD App Store – Company Portal

From 2025, all Senior School students will have access to a curated BYOD App Store powered by Microsoft’s ‘Company Portal’.

Company Portal enables students to access and manage School provided software applications on their BYOD device through one easy to navigate app.

The IT team will use Company Portal during special exam periods (e.g. NAPLAN) to ensure all students have access to the correct software to complete examinations.

More information about Company Portal and how to install on a BYOD device can be found within the BYOD Software Guide on The Hub.

Sun Safety

As we begin our PDHPE practical lessons for the year, the department's top priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, especially during outdoor lessons in hot weather. To support this, we will be implementing the following sun safety measures:

  • All students are required to wear a Kinross Wolaroi hat (including the visor, cap, or bucket hat) for every PDHPE practical lesson. This will help protect them from the sun’s harmful UV rays during outdoor activities.
  • We will continue to provide sunscreen at each lesson, and we encourage you to remind your child to use it for added protection against sunburn.

If students do not have a hat for PDHPE practical lessons, the PDHPE uniform policy will be followed. This includes a restorative conversation and a GREEN level uniform infringement.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this update, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We value your feedback and are here to assist in any way we can.

Thank you for your ongoing support in helping create a safe and healthy learning environment for our students.

Head Teacher PDHPE

Year 10 PDHPE Practical Unit

This term, Year 10 PDHPE is focusing on personal fitness. As part of their studies, students will complete an assessment task in which they’ll create an individual training plan for either health or skill components. Over the next month, they will attend three strength and conditioning sessions with Mr Sam Bettle, where they’ll learn the basics of programming, how to write a detailed plan, and the fundamentals of strength training.

Strong Start!

It’s been a busy start to the school year in the gym, with excellent attendance from our rowers, swimmers, cricketers, touch footballers, and pre-season rugby players. On Wednesday morning, we had an impressive turnout of 55 students, we hope to see these numbers remain strong throughout the year. Keep up the great work!
