Mothers Day 

Mother's Day Breakfast 

A fantastic morning was had at Marian College celebrating our 2024 Mother's Day breakfast with our community. This event provided the perfect opportunity to come together and celebrate the influential women in our lives. We were thrilled to also have Sally Caruana from Sheforce join us as our guest speaker. Sally captivated us with her inspiring journey and the support she extends to women stepping into the construction industry. She provided valuable insights on financial literacy to our young women, urging them to empower themselves for the future.

Mother’s Day Stall 

Throughout semester one, the Year 9/10 Real World students along with a small group of VCE Vocational Major students worked together to produce a variety of gifts to sell at the Mother’s Day stall. The stall was run over three days and many of the gifts were handmade by the students. 

The project allowed the students to continue to develop their teamwork, organization, communication, literacy and numeracy skills. The money raised from this project will be used throughout the year to fund other learning opportunities for the students and $100 will be donated to the Biggest Morning Tea for cancer research.

Thanksgiving (Tai) Brown one of the students involved in the project provided the following feedback:

Hello my name is Tai and I am in an elective called “The Real World”. In The Real World we have been making things for the Mothers Day stall like Bracelets, Lanyards, Keyrings, Necklaces and Earrings. Last week we had our Mother’s day stall selling many of our products. Thank you to all of the people that came over to buy something.
