INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

Visual Arts Learning Maps

Inclusive Education students in Years 11 and 12 are investigating Tribes, Totems and Teapots in Visual Arts. These paintings are called Learning Maps.

Students chose a totem spirit animal as their own. They explored country, learned to name our native trees and sat around the stone circle. They discussed identity, our learning journey and how we create symbols to depict parts of our learning journey. We looked at how our indigenous painters have used symbols to represent food, water, fire, tribe and family. We then created these paintings using a limited Earth palette.
