Year 3 Descriptive Writing

Year 3 Descriptive Writing - Popcorn

This term, the Year 3 students have been working on Descriptive writing. As part of their learning, students gathered together to make popcorn! They eagerly watched as the kernels were placed in the pan and heated to make their corn pop. While they were waiting to eat the delicious popcorn, they brainstormed descriptive words using their 5 senses to describe what they could see, hear, smell, touch and feel. 

Students then returned to their classrooms and wrote their descriptive writing piece, using their brainstormed vocabulary. It was a fantastic experience for the students.
