Term 2 School Fees

Term 2 school fee invoices were emailed last week. If you did not receive a copy, please contact Ann or Deanne - accounts@scc.tas.edu.au

A reminder that Term 1 school fees are now overdue. 

If you wish to discuss your account at any time please email accounts@scc.tas.edu.au or phone the College and ask to speak to Ann Westmore (Finance Officer) or Deanne Edwards (Business Manager).

A dental retainer has been handed into the College office. Please contact the office if you think this belong to you or your child.

Help us Put a Stop to Homelessness!

Every day, at least 20 individuals and families visit Hobart City Mission to get help with the food and clothing they need to get through winter and we want to help ensure that food is always available.

We want to live in a place where people in crisis have somewhere to turn, and beds are available for those who need them so we’ve signed up to take the Sleep Rough Challenge on Friday night, May 24!

We’ll be spending the night at PW1, with hundreds of other Tassie legends, to raise vital funds for the programs and people who are fighting homelessness here in Southern Tasmania.

News

This is a good way to see highlights of events and activities across the school. We will also highlight upcoming events and activities. 

Calendar

Major school events are added to the Schoolbox calendar. This is an easy way to check in on dates for activities involving your child/children or our special community activities. 

Primary

During Term 1, our Primary parents have been receiving some updates on what has been happening in our classes. This has included some insights into class or school activities, our units of inquiry or class excursions. This term, we will begin adding 'Learning Moments'. These are specific insights into your child's learning or experience at school. 

Secondary

Our Secondary students have been receiving feedback from their assessment tasks. You can also see this feedback. You will see the profile for your child/children on the home screen. Click on their name or photo and that will take you to the activity feed where details of each task, the feedback and results can be seen. 

Select the Due Work option to view their assessment calendar. 

With any new system, there are challenges. We appreciate the patience and support as we have navigated the transition to a new platform. There still remains some challenges in the connection between our timetabling platform and Schoolbox. This is an issue that stops student timetables from appearing in Schoolbox. Our Schoolbox provider is working hard to resolve this.

Winter Uniform (Repeat)

The winter uniform is required to be worn for Terms 2 and 3. There is a transition period for the first two weeks of Term 2 so that on warmer days the summer uniform may still be worn. Hats do not need to be worn in Terms 2 and 3.  

Primary and Secondary students may wear the soft shell jackets with the PE uniform and Primary students (only) may wear it with the dress uniform, for extra warmth.

On particularly cold days, students may wear a black or navy puffer jacket to school and at lunch time.

Additional Winter Items

• A navy or white, long-sleeved t-shirt may be worn below the polo shirt in winter or cooler weather.
• Beanies worn to and from school must be navy but are not to be worn in classes unless specific permission is given.
• Beanies are available for purchase from the College Midford uniform shop.
• Navy scarves may be worn to and from school and throughout the day.

Connections Café opening hours have changed for Term 2.

We are now open:
