Introducing David Foley and Tandy Johnson

CURRICULUM DAY CHANGE:  There is a date change for the final Curriculum Day to be held in term 3.  The new date is the first day back Monday 15 July instead of week 5 on 14th August.  We are sorry to make this change but circumstances affected this decision.

YEAR 5 CAMP: This week our year 5 students went on camp.  Forest Edge is located just past Yarra Junction.  It's a great camp set in farmland and beside a forest.  A stream runs through the camp site. The activities include a huge flying fox and many challenging adventure activities We will load photos to the photo gallery each day.

ARRANGING A TIME TO MEET WITH YOUR TEACHER: A reminder to parents that if you wish to share a discussion about an issue, then its best to make a time that suits both yourself and the teacher.  The start of the day is a high pressure busy time as students are arriving at the classroom door and teachers are setting up the first lesson.  Teachers want to work in partnership with parents so communicate  to arrange an agreed timeslot.

100TH ANNIVERSARY:  We would like to  ask parents to assist your children with dressup clothing for the special day.  We would like children to dress in decade clothing attire.  For instance in the 1920's we have pioneering clothing and in the 1950's it was the beginning of the gold era. In the 60's and 70's we had a hippy culture. Children are starting to get excited about the birthday celebrations and they love the chance to dress up, so we appreciate your support.

WORKS ON RYAN's + PROGRESS ROAD:  For your information. Please see below for a project update regarding the Ryans Road and Wattletree Road intersection upgrades.  We’re upgrading the intersection of Ryans Road and Wattletree Road in Eltham North to improve safety and pedestrian access to bus stops and schools.

From Sunday 5 May to late-May crews will work between 8:00pm and 5:00am to install retaining walls. We’re completing these works at night to minimise disruptions to traffic and keep crews safe.

Please note, these dates and times are subject to favourable weather conditions. During night works, you can expect:

·         Lane closures on Ryans Road and Wattletree Road with traffic management controllers directing drivers.

·         Medium to high levels of noise. We’ll complete the noisiest works as early in the evening as possible. Crews use modern equipment to reduce noise, however the works will unavoidably emit some noise and light. For the safety of road users and workers on site, reversing beepers are a requirement on all machinery.

·         A reduced 40km/h speed limit to keep crews safe.

What’s next.....  works are expected to continue to mid-2024, with the majority of works to be completed during the day between 9:30am and 3:30pm; Mondays to Fridays. No works will be scheduled on public holidays.

Temporary bus stop closure

The northbound bus stop at Ryans Road/Parry Road will be temporarily closed during works. For more information, please visit ptv.vic.gov.au
