Governing Council Subcommittees

How to become involved

Our Governing Council had their first meeting for the year in Week 8, Term 1. During the meeting, we discussed the processes of our Governing Council subcommittees and how we can further improve engagement with families. We put a final call to our community for parents wishing to become involved, however, sadly we didn't receive any interest. In case you missed it or wished to join now, it's not too late.

The subcommittees we have are:

  • Grounds
  • Fundraising
  • Sports
  • OSHC
  • Finance (School and OSHC)

There is no requirement to be a Governing Council member to join any of these subcommittees. We welcome the involvement of any interested parent/caregiver. These subcommittees meet in Weeks 2 and 7 (the week proceeding Governing Council meetings) of the term at a convenient time for the committee members.

If you would like any further information about the subcommittees or to register your interest, please contact the Front Office.

How to raise a matter with a Governing Council subcommittee...

We understand that families all have many commitments outside of school and this is sometimes restrictive in being able to participate.

This does not mean you cannot raise a matter with one of our subcommittees.

This can then be tabled, discussed, and if necessary, taken through to the Governing Council for further conversation and consideration.

This may be a matter that you have some concerns, suggestions or ideas about or a general query you would like to make in regard to our school.

If you wish to have a matter raised and tabled with one of the subcommittees, please put the matter in writing and email through to the school administration email: marionps.administration@schools.sa.edu.au

This will then be disseminated to the relevant subcommittee and tabled in the preceding weeks leading to Governing Council Meetings.

If you have any questions or would like any further information regarding anything concerning subcommittees or Governing Council, please contact the school.

Regards,
