Leadership Report

Welcome back to Term 2!

Dear Marion Primary School Community,

We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing break.

We have had a smooth transition back to the term with all classes settled and back into their learning programs.

It is with great excitement and honor that I embark on a new chapter as Acting Deputy Principal for the first five weeks of Term 2 while Georgina Sprigg is on leave.

My name is Michelle Volaris and I have had the privilege of teaching the Junior Primary students for many years at Marion Primary School.

My passion for literacy, particularly through initiatives like InitaLit and reading intervention programs, inclusion and student wellbeing has always been a driving force in my teaching journey. Now, as I step into this leadership role, I am eager to extend that passion to a wider scope, supporting our school community in meaningful ways.

Building strong relationships is at the heart of everything I do. Whether it’s with students, staff, parents/caregivers or the broader school community, fostering connections is key to creating a thriving educational environment.

I am committed to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure that Marion Primary School continues to be a place of growth, learning and inclusivity.

I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with you, our brilliant staff and alongside our Principal, Guy Walmsley. Together let’s make the next five weeks a time of collaboration, innovation and success.

Australian Early Development Census (AEDC)

This term we will be involved in collecting information about each child in their first year of full-time schooling using the national online AEDC data collection system. This nationwide census measures the progress of children’s development in five key domains.
