Continued Student Success

Hasan Merchant, one of our outstanding Year 10 students, was selected to join a seven-member team representing Victoria in the National Fieldcraft Competition. The competition took place over five challenging days at the Army Training Camp in Canungra, Queensland, where rugged terrain and demanding conditions tested the cadets' mettle.

During the competition, the cadets were required to navigate through dense forests in full tactical gear. The tasks were multifaceted, encompassing survival techniques, camouflage, concealment, navigation, and communication. However, the competition went beyond physical skills to test leadership, strategic planning, teamwork, and personal development. It was designed to evaluate the cadets’ abilities to lead, adapt, and excel as a cohesive unit under adversity.

We are proud to announce that the Victoria team triumphed, winning this competition for the first time in ten years. In recognition of their exceptional performance, Hasan was honored with an AAFC Gold Commendation and the prestigious Australian Air Force Cadets Challenge Coin by Sir General Peter Cosgrove, former Chief of Defence Forces and Governor-General.

The College wishes to commend Hasan on this fantastic achievement.
