MRC - ANZAC Day

On Thursday, April 25th, College Captains, members of student advocacy, and staff attended the Anzac Day service at the Craigieburn War Memorial. The service provided the opportunity for our students to immerse in the local community and remember those Australian men and women who served their country and to honour those who made the supreme sacrifice. At this service, our College Captains were able to lay a wreath to symbolise their remembrance and acknowledgment.

WORK EXPERIENCE 2024

The Year 10 Work Experience program recently wrapped up, propelling students into the professional world. This immersive experience allowed them to unveil potential career paths and hone essential skills that will be assets throughout their working lives.

Students spent a week shadowing professionals in their chosen fields, actively participating in daily tasks. This hands-on approach gave them a firsthand look at industry realities, from the daily grind to the moments of triumph. Beyond observation, this program fostered the development of critical communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management skills – all highly sought-after by employers.

ABCN Find Your Purpose

Embarking on a journey of self-discovery, the Year 9 and 10 students had been invited to delve into a profound experience, in which they participated in a program called “Find Your Purpose”. The students were provided with a unique opportunity to navigate their own values and interests with the nurturing guidance of experienced mentors.

During the program, students were encouraged, as well as challenged to think about their true passion and aspirations, through insightful discussions, interactive workshops and listening to anecdotal experiences from their group mentor. With their findings, they were then directed to make connections between their individual values and the many career paths that align with these values.

This excursion wasn’t just about discovering careers; it's allowed students to ignite the flame of purpose within themselves and empowering them to tread the path that resonates most deeply with their authentic selves. As they closed the program, enriched with self-awareness and direction, students were able to embark on a journey of fulfillment and significance, to make meaningful contributions to both their own lives and the world around them.

Year 10 Advanced Japanese Immersion city experience

Yr 10 Advanced Japanese class students embarked on a cultural adventure, venturing into the city for a unique yukata wearing experience. Yukata are traditional Japanese garments similar to kimonos, known for their vibrant colors and comfortable wear during the hot summer months.

The yukata experience likely involved donning the beautiful garments with the assistance of experts, ensuring they were worn correctly and looked their best.

This cultural experience has undoubtedly fostered a deeper appreciation for Japanese attire and aesthetics. Students learned about the different types of yukata and the occasions for which they are worn.
