Principal's Report

Dear Rockhampton North Special School Community,

Welcome back to Term 2! I hope everyone had a refreshing break and is excited to dive back into another term filled with learning and growth.

Firstly, a heartfelt reminder that ANZAC Day is tomorrow. We will be participating in the ANZAC Day march to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served for Australia and New Zealand. It's a significant day for reflection and gratitude, and I look forward to seeing many of our students and their families there.

I am thrilled to congratulate our staff on a fantastic milestone — they have now handed out over 50 bucket fillers in one week to each other! This achievement reflects the positivity and support we foster within our school community. Each bucket filler symbolises acts of kindness and encouragement, helping to uplift and inspire our colleagues daily.

A big thank you to all our families for your cooperation with the new drop-off process. The removal of the 'no entry' sign at 2:45 PM has been a success, and it's all thanks to your support and understanding.

We are continuously working on our Strategic Direction, focusing on Curriculum and Culture. The embedding of High Performance Team structures and the improvements in our B and E Blocks are enhancing our learning environment, creating a sense of belonging and keeping our classrooms bright and tidy. These changes not only enhance our school's physical space but also enrich our community's spirit and engagement.

Let’s keep up the great work as we move forward together, striving to make our school a place where everyone feels valued and connected. Here's to a wonderful Term 2!

Warm regards
