Families
Term 2 has started and is flying by.
We look forward to supporting all children to learn by providing learning across all curriculum areas.
Catholic Education Week - Monday 29th april -- Friday 3rd May
There are many opportunities to come and visit this week. Families are welcome to visit with their children when the preschool visits and we encourage families looking for a school to partner with them for their child's education to come along to our Come & Try Information eveing on Monday and/or the Come & See Learning Walk on Thursday.
ANZAC Day
It was a privilege to gather as a community and march on ANZAC Day. We had 20 children march in school uniform, 6 march with other organisations and there were a few St Joseph's children that attended with their families. Thank you to everyone for making the effort to recognise this day.
The week before ANZAC Day we hosted RSL President Cameron Lovering and Vice-President John Roberts for a Community Learning Day with a focus on ANZAC Day. All children participated in a rotation of activities with the intention to learn more about ANZAC Day and why it is so important that we recognise this anniversary each year.
We are very grateful for the time that the RSL offer us to support the learning of our children.
Cross Country
Everyone had a fabulous afternoon at Rochester Secondary College on Wednesday participating in the community Cross Country event.
Students in Age Groups 10, 11, 12/13 that finished in the top 5 for our school will be offered the opportunity to participate in the Campaspe Division Cross Country on Friday 17th May at Jack Eddy Oval Moama.
PUPIL FREE DAY
Catholic Education Sandhurst have granted us an additional Pupil Free Day on Monday 6th May. The purpose of this is to complete the final clean out of the resources that are being stored in the container. All staff will be working on this day to make sure this is the last of the sorting. We are very grateful to CESL and our families for this support.
CONGRATULATIONS JESS MCMILLAN
Jess represented St Joseph's last Friday swimming in Melbourne. While Jess didn't receive a ribbon, she swam a personal best.
We are so proud of your efforts Jess and can't wait to cheer you on next year!
School Review
In the first week of term, we hosted ACER reviewers at St Joseph's. The purpose of their visit was to review our practices in teaching and learning. We have received a draft copy of the report and look forward to enacting the recommendations as we work to create a Strategic Plan that will take us through the next 4 years.
The Container Deposit Scheme is ready for donations to a drop off point OR we have two bins to put your containers in and we will do the rest.
- Our first deposit has been made and $123.40 was raised.
This is a great start to our fundraising for a Grade 6 day out at the end of the year.
SCHOOL FEES
Fee statements are being sent home with your children.
Families with health care cards are encouraged to bring them in to school so allow us to activate the appropriate fee relief (student levy & CSEF).
If paying your fees is a challenge, please do not hesitate to come and talk through this with me.
Take care, stay in touch.
