Welcome back to Term 1! We trust you had a rejuvenating and wonderful break. As we embark on the new term, we are eagerly anticipating the exciting journey ahead in Visual Arts!
What are we learning in Term One?
PREP:
This term in Visual Arts, Foundation students will explore various areas including recognizing and drawing basic lines, patterns, and shapes, using primary colours to create artworks, manipulating construction materials to express ideas, exploring printing techniques for textural effects, and describing and identifying ideas in viewed and created artworks.
YEAR 1:
During this term in Visual Arts, Year One students will explore various areas including creating artworks using simple two-dimensional shapes, lines, and patterns, effectively using art media and tools, identifying primary and secondary colours, experimenting with various materials to express ideas, and sharing and discussing artwork with classmates.
YEAR 2:
This term in Visual Arts, Year Two students will explore various areas, creating artwork by incorporating elements such as line, space, colour, and texture. They will also identify primary colours and generate secondary colours, follow instructions and processes to complete artwork, and engage in presenting, discussing, and providing feedback on both their own and their peers' artwork.
YEAR 3:
During this term in Visual Arts, Year Three students will explore various areas, employing their imagination to design and produce creative artworks while following art-making processes. They will utilise various art media and techniques, construct three-dimensional art pieces to demonstrate skill acquisition, and engage in displaying, discussing, and evaluating both their own and their peers' artwork.
YEAR 4:
During this term in Visual Arts, Year Four students will explore various areas, including creatively interpreting artworks, effectively utilising a range of mediums and materials, selecting and applying techniques and processes, and engaging in discussions and evaluations of both their own and others' visual artworks.
YEAR 5:
In Visual Arts, this Term, the Year Five students will cover different Visual Arts areas. Students will interpret and produce art works creatively. They will explore and develop techniques and processes to create artworks. Students will use a range of mediums and materials effectively. They will learn to refine artwork in response to feedback. Students will learn to use specific art vocabulary to describe how ideas are expressed in artworks.
YEAR 6:
During this term in Visual Arts, Year Six students will explore various areas, including competently planning and expressing ideas for artworks, refining technique using art tools, effectively applying a range of media and materials, following art-making processes to achieve desired outcomes, and contributing to individual and classroom discussions using appropriate language.
