Congratulations to our 2024 graduating students Joel, Hamish and Brodie. We celebrated on Wednesday night this week with a very special Graduation Evening at Chirnside Park Country Club. Our graduating students together with their families and friends and our year 11 students and families joined with staff for a lovely evening to acknowledge the achievements and school experiences of our final year students.
We wish Joel, Hamish and Brodie all the very best for the future and thank their families for their support and partnership with the school over many years. We look forward to hearing what they are doing as they begin their post school options and their exciting new adventures!
Look how they have grown!
Congratulations to Joel Baba who is this year's recipient of the Deakin Award at Croydon SDS. This esteemed award honours individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and meaningful contributions to their community, embodying the values of Care, Share, Do Your Best and Be Safe. Joel has demonstrated much growth in his learning and skills during his time at Croydon SDS. He is a kind and caring student and has done a great job working together with Hamish as one of our school captains. Joel's family and school staff are very proud of his efforts.
Joel was presented with his award at the graduation evening this week. Joel received a special trophy to keep at home and his name has been engraved on our Deakin Shield which is on display in the foyer.
It is exciting to see our new buildings progressing quickly now as they move towards completion. Christine and I have been able to to visit inside on several occasions and the spaces are looking amazing. We will keep you updated on the progress of the buildings and the arrangements for the Crown buses and parent drop off and pick up. We look forward to being able to use the new driveway which will mean that buses and parent/carer cars will enter and park in different locations. More news on this via Compass before school starts next year!
It has been a busy and exciting year at Croydon SDS. Students have engaged in a wide variety of learning programs and it has been great to see their progress throughout the year. A big thank you to all of our parents/carers for your support. We highly value working together with you to achieve the best outcomes for your children. I hope that the holidays provide you with a break from the school routines and some time with family and friends.
Students will return to school on Thursday 30th January. Foundation students begin on Friday 31st January. We look forward to seeing you in 2025 ready for another great year!
