Head of Primary Years' Report
Dear families,
As we end the school year for 2024, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the success and growth we have seen for our students. Highlights this year have been having the Year 5 cohort as part of our new Primary Years model and we look forward to our current Year Fives becoming our first Year Six cohort for Primary Years.
Our Year Fives have made us proud, being great role models for the younger students. We have seen the added play spaces to the school grounds and look forward to continuing to make improvements to our grounds and facilities. Our Preps are ready for Year 1, having success in their first year of schooling with growth in their learning, social and emotional skills.
Recently, we welcomed our new Preps for 2025 and we look forward to having many new families join our College community. For our Year Ones this year, they have had many fun experiences with their teachers and they celebrated the end of the year with a sparkly disco.
This year, our Year One's have had many wonderful experiences including making new friends and navigating play inside and outside of the classroom. A favourite for our Year Ones this year has been the cubby houses where they busy themselves with imaginative play during breaks.
Our Year Twos have had many opportunities to showcase their work throughout the year with parents invited to share in these experiences. Our Year Threes had their first camp this year to Phillip Island where they took on challenges in their activities and worked in teams.
Our Year Fours took on the responsibility of prep buddies and have developed strong bonds with the prep cohort that we know will continue as our preps and fours move up each year.
Last week, we had the opportunity to recognise achievements of our students at our Awards Ceremonies. This was an occasion that recognises and values the efforts and learning achievements for students and it was fantastic to see so many families join us to celebrate.
We hope that you all have a joyful, safe and restful time over the Christmas break with your families and we look forward to welcoming you all back again in 2025.
