From the Deputy Principal

Mrs Caroline Wilson-Haffenden

As we come to the end of the year, there is much to celebrate. A fortnight ago, we enjoyed a wonderful evening with the Year 12s and their families. Last week, we farewelled the Year 10s, gathered for the Year 6 Prize Giving and Lunch, and celebrated the Christmas spirit at the Junior School concerts. We have much for which to be grateful.

As previously communicated, tomorrow evening, we look forward to gathering at Wrest Point for Prize Giving. This is a compulsory school event for all Senior School students. Parents and carers are, of course, warmly welcomed.

Friday 13 December is the final day of school for the Kinder to Year 9 students. The day will commence with a Thanksgiving Mass followed by the Senior School Merit Assembly, culminating in the Presentation Picnic on the College Green.

As we look forward to Christmas and the holidays, I would also like to remind parents and carers of the wealth of information available courtesy of SchoolTV on the College website: Wellbeing and SchoolTV Portal.

School Transitions | St Mary's College

The holiday season can be a disruptive time for young people as their normal routines are paused during the break. Students are encouraged to stay active and engaged during the holiday period by indulging in physical pursuits, face-to-face interactions and exploring the wonders of a good book. Visit the SchoolTV website here for a comprehensive suite of resources on school transitions

I thank and wish all our students, staff, parents, carers and the wider school community a very joyful and peaceful Christmas, and every blessing for 2025.
