An update from our Year Advisers
And just like that, our Year 7 students have reached the halfway point of their very first year of high school! Term 3 has been another busy term filled with opportunities to learn, connect, challenge themselves and most importantly, grow. One of the term's biggest moments came in Week 4 when students braved their first round of school vaccinations.
Nerves were high, but students conquered their fears and rolled up their sleeves for the team from the South Western Sydney Public Health Unit who visited as part of the NSW School Vaccination Program. A huge congratulations to everyone who bravely faced the needle(s)! Speaking of facing our fears, this has also been a key focus of our RIOT!
(Resilience in Our Teens) lessons this term. Students have continued to develop their understanding of the teenage brain, learning about the role the amygdala plays in our fear response and how gradually facing the things that scare us can build new pathways in the brain and help us become more confident.
It's a timely reminder for our Year 7 students: you don't have to feel comfortable to be brave.
Students have also embraced a range of whole-school events this term. From Colour Run fun during ‘Bullying No Way! Week’, to representing TRED in netball, soccer or OzTag at the Year 7 Gala Day and wrapping up the term in style with their very first TRED Day where students immersed themselves in a joyful celebration of the many cultures that make up our community — one that I am so proud to be a part of.
A special mention goes to Year 7 student Bella Ricketts who was recognised for her consistent hard work, leadership and commitment to learning by receiving the Runner Up Dynamic Learner Award at the 2026 Campbelltown Rotary Youth Excellence Awards this term — an outstanding representative of our Year 7 cohort and TRED community. Congratulations are also in order for Mikayla Foard, Aydin Adams and Nate Preddy, who were recognised as the top three students in the year group for receiving the highest number of positive Sentral entries from their classroom teachers, consistently demonstrating positive behaviour and engagement throughout the term.
What a fantastic achievement!
As we head into Term 4, our Year 7 students are no longer quite so new to the big pond! They have come a long way already, and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow, challenge themselves and make the most of their final term of Year 7.

Year 8: Term 3 Highlights
Term 3 has been another busy and rewarding term for Year 8, with students continuing to grow in confidence, independence and connection with our school community.
A major milestone this term was subject selection, as students began choosing their electives for next year. It has been wonderful to see students considering their interests, strengths and future pathways as they make these important decisions. We look forward to seeing them embrace their new subjects and opportunities.
Year 8 also embraced our Purple Rave for Wear It Purple Day, filling the school with colour while celebrating inclusion, diversity, respect and the importance of creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.
Our Colour Run for Anti-Bullying Week was another highlight. Students came together for a fun-filled afternoon of colour, laughter and teamwork, while reinforcing the important message that everyone has a role to play in making our school a safe, respectful and welcoming place.
It has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm and positive spirit Year 8 have shown throughout Term 3. I am incredibly proud of their progress and look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in Term 4.
Year 9 – A Term of Growth, Opportunity and Achievement
Year 9 have enjoyed a highly engaging and successful term, embracing a range of opportunities that have encouraged personal growth, strengthened connections and supported their development as confident young people.
This term, students participated in the DAIR Program, engaging in experiences that promoted positive decision-making, resilience and important life skills. The cohort also came together for the Colour Run, where students demonstrated wonderful school spirit, enthusiasm and a strong sense of community.
It has also been fantastic to see so many Year 9 students proudly representing our school at a variety of sporting events throughout the term. Their commitment, teamwork and willingness to participate have been a credit to both themselves and our school community.
As students begin to consider their future pathways, many have taken the opportunity to explore TAFE programs and vocational opportunities. These experiences are providing students with valuable insight into the diverse pathways available to them beyond school and encouraging them to think positively about their future goals and aspirations.
As we approach the end of the term, students are looking forward to TRED Day, which will provide another exciting opportunity for the cohort to participate, connect and celebrate together.
Congratulations to Year 9 on a wonderful term. Their willingness to get involved, embrace new experiences and support one another has made this a particularly positive and rewarding term. We look forward to seeing the cohort continue to grow, achieve and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
Year 10 Year Advisor Update
It has been a busy and exciting time for Year 10, with plenty happening both in and out of the classroom!
Last term, eligible Year 10 students enjoyed a Rewards Excursion to Fastlane Go Karts, joining Year 11 students for a fun afternoon of racing and friendly competition. It was fantastic to see students rewarded for their positive behaviour, effort and engagement throughout the term.
We are looking forward to our end-of-year Rewards Excursion to Raging Waters! More details about eligibility, arrangements and the excursion will be provided closer to the date. Students are encouraged to continue demonstrating positive behaviour, attendance and engagement to ensure they can make the most of this exciting reward.
Subject Selection has also been an important focus for Year 10. All students should now have selected their subjects for Year 11 next year. This is an exciting step as students prepare to move into the senior years of their schooling and I look forward to supporting them as they prepare for the transition into Year 11!
Year 11 Year Adviser Update
Year 11 have had a busy and successful term, recently completing their Preliminary Exams. Students worked well under exam conditions in the gym and had the opportunity to experience some of the expectations and routines they will encounter as they move towards their HSC.
It was fantastic to see some students achieve excellent results in their exams. While there were many positive outcomes, the exams have also highlighted the importance of developing and maintaining a regular study routine. As students move into Year 12, consistent study, preparation and organisation will be key to achieving their best results.
We are also excited to announce that the Year 12 jackets will be arriving shortly! We look forward to seeing our Year 11 students' step into their new senior role and proudly wear their Year 12 jackets as they begin their final year of high school.
To finish off a great term, we are looking forward to celebrating together at TRED Day. It will be a fantastic opportunity for Year 11 to relax, connect with their peers and celebrate their achievements throughout the term.

It’s hard to believe we have reached the final term of Year 12! After six years of learning, growing, overcoming challenges and making countless memories, our students are now busy finishing off their final assessments, preparing for graduation and making the most of their last few weeks together at school.
This term has included plenty of memorable moments. Year 12 took part in the Colour Run for No Bullying Day, bringing lots of colour, laughter and positive energy to the day.
Students also enjoyed a well-deserved movie reward excursion, giving them a chance to relax and spend time together. Our Year 12 students have also been busy cooking for the school café, showcasing their skills and contributing to our school community.
We are also incredibly proud to see our students representing Year 12 and being recognised within the wider community. A special congratulations to Georgia, who was recognised at the Campbelltown Youth Excellence Awards for her achievements in leadership, a wonderful achievement and something to be very proud of.
With graduation just around the corner, we encourage Year 12 to cherish these final moments together, the friendships, laughs, lessons and everyday moments that have made their high school journey so special.
