Celebrating Year 12
Congratulations to our Year 12 students on completing their final term of secondary school. This important milestone was celebrated at their graduation ceremony, where their many successes were acknowledged and special memories of their time at Thomas Reddall High School were shared.
Throughout their years at our school, Year 12 have demonstrated resilience, determination and a commitment to achieving their goals. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and the contribution they have made to our school community.
Next term, Year 12 students will complete their HSC examinations. Students are reminded to check the official HSC examination timetable carefully, confirm the date and starting time of each examination, and arrive at school early so they are prepared and ready to begin on time.
We wish all Year 12 students every success with their final preparations and encourage them to approach their examinations with confidence. Once the HSC examinations are over, students will come together one final time to celebrate at their Year 12 Formal.
Congratulations, Year 12. We wish you all the very best for the HSC and for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
Years 8 and 10 Subject Selections
Year 10 students have now completed their subject selections in preparation for their transition into Stage 6 next year. This is an important step as students begin planning their senior studies and considering their future pathways.
Year 10 students are reminded that they must complete and submit any outstanding work across all subjects before the beginning of next term. At that time, the school will review students’ progress and consider any outstanding course requirements as part of the N-determination process.
Students who are unsure whether they have outstanding work should speak with their classroom teachers as soon as possible. We encourage all Year 10 students to use the remaining time productively and begin next term ready for a successful transition into Stage 6 in 2027.
Year 8 students have also completed their subject selections in preparation for their transition into Stage 5 next year. Any Year 8 or Year 10 student who has not yet submitted their subject selections should speak with Ms Skeggs or Ms McGarry as soon as possible.
We wish all students and their families a happy, safe and restful break. Students return to school on Tuesday 13 October.

Year 8, 10 and 12
Term 3 has been a busy and productive term across our Inclusive Education, Wellbeing and Learning Support and Secondary Studies teams. Throughout the term, we have continued to work closely with students, parents/carers and staff to support student wellbeing, engagement, learning and successful transitions throughout secondary schooling and beyond.
Throughout Term 3, students participated in a range of activities and initiatives promoting positive relationships, inclusion, respect and wellbeing. Anti-Bullying Week provided opportunities for students to explore respectful relationships, positive behaviour and the importance of creating a safe and inclusive school environment. R U OK? Day encouraged students to check in with one another, have meaningful conversations and recognise that seeking support is an important part of looking after our wellbeing. Book Week celebrated reading, storytelling and a love of books, while Wear It Purple Day promoted inclusion, acceptance, respect and belonging across our school community. We encourage parents and carers to continue these important conversations at home and to contact the school whenever they have concerns about their child's wellbeing, relationships or engagement.
Subject selection has been an important focus throughout Term 3. Students in Years 8,9 and 10 participated in subject selection presentations designed to provide clear information about subject choices, course requirements, senior patterns of study and future pathways. Students transitioning from Year 10 into Year 11 received an individualised subject selection pack, providing information relevant to their strengths, interests, learning needs and identified pathway. These resources were designed to support students to make informed and appropriate choices as they prepare for Stage 6.
Nominated Year 10 students and their parents/carers were also invited to participate in individual transition interviews. These meetings provided an opportunity to discuss the transition into Stage 6, including consideration of a Life Skills or mainstream pattern of study and appropriate elective choices. Students and their families in this space had access to the School Careers Adviser and Support Teacher Transition. These conversations are an important opportunity for students, families and the school to work together to identify a pathway that reflects each student's individual needs, strengths and future goals.
We were also pleased to welcome our Year 6 students from our local primary schools as they prepare for their transition to high school in Year 7. Throughout the year, students have had opportunities to become familiar with our school environment, meet key staff and connect with their future peers. Our transition activities are designed to help students feel comfortable and confident as they prepare for this important next step in their education. We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students and their families to our school community in 2027.
Our Wellbeing Team has continued to conduct individual attendance interviews with students and parents/carers throughout the term. These conversations focus on understanding the factors that may be impacting attendance and identifying practical strategies to support students to attend school regularly and remain connected to their learning. Regular attendance provides an important foundation for student learning, wellbeing and connection. We greatly appreciate the ongoing partnership of families in working with the school to support positive attendance and student engagement.
Throughout Term 3, staff have continued to work closely with students to identify and implement appropriate adjustments that support their participation, learning and engagement. Our Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) work has included collaborating with students, parents/carers and staff to ensure individual learning needs and adjustments are understood, implemented and appropriately documented.
Personalised Learning and Support Plan (PLaSP) meetings have also continued with parents/carers, students and key stakeholders. These meetings provide an important opportunity to share information, review student progress, discuss strengths and areas for development, and collaboratively establish goals and adjustments to support each student's learning, wellbeing and participation. We value the knowledge and expertise that parents and carers bring to these conversations and recognise the importance of strong partnerships between home and school in ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive.
As our Year 12 students approach the end of their secondary schooling, we would like to acknowledge the significant support provided by their families and carers throughout their school journey. We wish all of our Year 12 students the very best for their final weeks, examinations, graduation and transition to life beyond school. We are proud of the progress, growth and achievements of our graduating students and look forward to celebrating this important milestone with them and their families. Congratulations, Year 12! We wish you every success and happiness as you begin the next chapter of your journey.
Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued partnership with the school. Your communication, advocacy and involvement play an important role in supporting your child's learning, wellbeing, inclusion and future pathways. We look forward to continuing to work together in Term 4 to ensure every student feels known, valued, supported and prepared for their next step.
