Harry Laing Poetry Workshop

What a fantastic experience our students had during

Harry Laing’s poetry workshop on Monday!

Students were engaged, entertained and inspired as Harry shared his love of poetry, performance and storytelling. His fun and energetic approach encouraged students to explore their own creativity and have a go at writing their own poems.

It was wonderful to see students discovering that poetry can be fun, expressive and a powerful way to share ideas and experiences. I’ll be sharing some of the fantastic poems students created during the workshop over the coming days. Harry’s books are now available to borrow from your school library:

CHARACTER DRESS UP DAY

On Friday 28 August, staff and students had the opportunity to come to school dressed as their favourite book character — and what an amazing response we received!

The school was transformed into a wonderful parade of characters from our favourite stories. We saw colourful crayons, Harry Potters, pirates, characters from Charlotte’s Web, and plenty of Roald Dahl favourites, including Wicked Witches, Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompas from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The creativity, enthusiasm and effort shown by both staff and students was outstanding. It was fantastic to see so many people embracing the fun of Book Week and bringing their favourite stories to life.

What a wonderful celebration of our love of reading, books and the characters who inspire us!
