Community Association AGM Chair Report

2023 has seen the Community Association continue to offer a rich calendar of events and fundraisers that have brought families together and supported our children’s learning.  Some of the activities the Community Association have proudly supported are:

  • Welcome new parent and prep pizza night
  • Welcome Morning tea on the first day back
  • School Disco
  • Colour run
  • Special Food days for the kids
  • Easter Raffle
  • Mothers and Fathers dinners
  • Father’s Day breakfast
  • Mother’s Day breakfast
  • Trivia night
  • Mother’s Day Stall
  • Grandparent’s Day Morning Tea
  • Year 6 Graduation and
  • The end of year BBQ to come

Fundraising efforts included Trivia Night, Mango Trays and Entertainment Books sales.

This year, funds raised will be supporting the STEM and Literacy programs. The school has purchased a Makedo Kit and BBC Microbit v2.2 starter kit. this has enabled our students to create, design and build a variety of constructions, electronic devices and coding programs.

Outreach continued throughout the year with many families in the school supported by the generosity of our wider community, providing meals, groceries and gift cards.

I would like to give a Special Thank you to all of our members. It has been such a massive year for us all and I know the school community, parents and children alike gain so much from all of your contributions.

On behalf of the CA, I would like to acknowledge and thank those members who are stepping down this year or are finishing their time at St John’s:

Thank-you Amy Prenc, Bill Sullivan, Michelle Plant, Donna Inglese, Kirsten Connelly, Annamaria Carnevale, Rohan Sutton and I will be stepping away at the end of this year. You have all made a massive contribution over many years. Thank you for the countless hours of support that you have provided. We greatly appreciate the time and energy that all of these families have given.

As we look towards 2024, under the title of Parent Association, we look forward to welcoming new members to the committee and thank those who will continue to join us and for all of their efforts.

If you are interested in joining as a team or individually, we would love to hear from you.
