This program is an education program that provides a safe and private space for students who have experienced Change, loss or grief in their life. It is focussed towards building students’ knowledge and skills, to help them understand their emotions and build on strategies to respond to experiences of change, loss and grief.

This program will be offered in 2024, in Term 2 and Term 4. Please keep an eye out for notifications in Term 1 and Term 3, if you are interested in enrolling your child.

School Of The Good Shepherd

Inaugural Parent Value Workshop

On Tuesday 21st, we proudly held an inaugural Parent Value workshop. The purpose of this evening was to share the journey our school(staff, students, parents) has gone on in operationalising our school value of ‘Belonging’. Susan Mitchell shared the journey our staff have gone on, Frank Piccione shared the work undertaken with our 2023 School Leaders and House Captains. To fully embrace the work we are undertaking around embracing Student Voice, our wonderful 2023 SRCs then independently presented to parents about their journey/experiences reflecting our school value of Belonging.

To prepare: students participated in 4 collaborative workshops to share their thinking, understanding and connections. The following 4 questions were used to guide and group their ideas:

As a SOGS student, I demonstrate the value of Belonging in the following ways.

  1. I know I ‘Belong’ to SOGS community because of the following reasons.
  2. I see the value of Belonging lived out by my peers and students across the school) in the following ways.
  3. I witness our parents/carers living out the value of Belonging in the following ways.
  4. Our school environment lives and breathes the value of Belonging for our community in the following ways.

Students then invited parents to share their thinking, understanding and connections using the following 5 questions:

As a SOGS parent/carer I demonstrate the value of Belonging in the following ways.

  1. I know I ‘Belong’ to SOGS community because of the following reasons.
  2. I see the value of Belonging lived out by my children and other students across the school in the following ways.
  3. I witness parents/carers living out the value of Belonging in the following ways.
  4. Our school environment lives and breathes the value of Belonging for our community in the following ways.

Thankyou to our students for presenting with confidence and pride. We are all very proud of you. A special prize was offered on this evening as it was our inaugural workshop. We congratulate the Ella C and her family for winning the $50 gift voucher.

As we value our parent’s voice, you are invited to respond to the above questions.

The link and/or QR will allow access to the questions.
