Careers - Summary of Results: Year 9 Morrisby Completion Report 2023

Year 9 students completed the Morrisby Profile in March this year.  The Morrisby Profile is an online career diagnostic tool consisting of a series of assessments and questionnaires.  The program is aimed at helping students to better understand their strengths and interests. 

Upon completion of the Morrisby Profile, each student was allocated a one-to-one interview with an external Career Consultant to discuss their results and demonstrate how they can continue to interact with and use the tool. We hope all students gained some valuable insights as to what career(s) they might like to consider and where their strengths lie.  Students have been given a life-long login to their Morrisby Profile, so I encourage them to review their results regularly when making future career decisions and if need be take the assessment again if their interests have changed.

Attached is a summary of the Year 9 results in several key areas.  These results have been based on student selections in their Morrisby Profile: 

• Top 20 Careers Selected by Students
• Top 20 Senior Secondary Subjects Selected by Students
• Top 20 VET Subjects Selected by Students
• Top 20 Post-Secondary Courses Selected by Students

Students have shown interest in various careers, school subjects and post-school studies, however, there is a common thread in all of the above key areas which is the interest in careers within the Sports Industry, studies in PE and VET Sport and Recreation at school and post-school studies in Sports Science. Perhaps we have a future Professional Sportsperson, Coach or Sports Scientist amongst this year 9 cohort?
