Hello fellow scientists,

 

In Prep the students have had an ecolinc incursion about frogs. They learnt about the frog life cycle and how frogs moved. They also had a chance to touch a frog.   

In Grade 1 the students have been looking at conserving water at home and at school. They also had a chance to demonstrate how to use the iPads safely whilst playing an educational game about nature and practiced their skills at categorizing.

 

In Grade 2 the students shared their books about a journey of the chip packet with their classmates. They have also researched ways in which we can reduce our plastic use and played an educational game about recycling.

In Grade 3 the students have looked at how to make and set up a sundial, they created a book on book creator and shared it with the class. They then used Scratch Jr to create a model of scientific concepts such as the Earth orbiting the Sun.

 

 

The Grade 4 students have been creating a magnetic game, which demonstrates their knowledge and understanding of magnetism.

 

In Grade 5 the students have finished their design project of a “Choose your own space adventure story”. They shared their stories with the class. They also looked at how to block code a Sphero to make it complete a course. 

In Grade 6 the students have been looking at how to apply risk reduction strategies for natural disasters within a simulation.
