From the Leadership Team

Dear Families,

As we wrap up the 2023 school year, we are filled with pride, gratitude and excitement for what the new school year will bring.

To the wonderful students at Greenwith Primary School - you continued to pursue your personal best and demonstrate our CORE Values of Collaboration, Organisation, Respect and Excellence in all that you do. We are so very proud of you all and your learning this year.

To the amazing staff at Greenwith Primary School - thank you for all your dedication, support of our students and of each other, your commitment to academic excellence and for providing a nurturing learning environment for our students.

Thank you must also go to our Governing Council which continues to support, guide and work towards the best learning opportunities and decisions for Greenwith Primary School. The working relationship between the Governing Council and the school is paramount to the success of all our students - it has been wonderful working with our Governing Council and we look forward to continuing the partnership in 2024. We take this opportunity to thank and farewell Vicky Cheng for her valuable input during her time as a council member.

In week 8, we hosted a morning tea to thank our volunteers, who generously gave their time to play an active role in our school. We appreciate your time and dedication to supporting our school.

We would especially like to thank and congratulate Tammy Lamey and Leah Chambers on receiving a Volunteer of the Year Award.

Tammy has been very generous with her time this year, supporting the school in many ways. She is a valued member of the Governing Council and the Parents & Friends group, attending regular meetings and supporting various fundraising initiatives for the school.

Tammy volunteered in the canteen on a weekly basis and has served the community at several fundraising stalls throughout the year. She completed the workshop to support students with reading and has been a great help to students in 1303 in term 4. Tammy also provided support by attending the Parliament House excursion and Middle Years camp.

Leah volunteered in the Resource Centre each week. She organised the distribution of the Scholastic Book Club, supported students with borrowing and helped with shelving, covering and repairing books.  Leah is a valued member of the Parents & Friends group, attending regular meetings and contributing her time and ideas to support fundraising initiatives for the school. Leah has volunteered her services at several fundraising stalls and has happily put her hand up to offer her assistance with whatever is needed.

Congratulations Tammy and Leah!

Thanks also go to Sarah Harris and Cherie Smyth who have invested a huge amount of time and effort into running various fundraising stalls over the years. We congratulate them on sourcing fantastic gifts and thank them for giving up their time to provide a fantastic shopping experience for our students and a great service to the GPS community.

2024 Staffing

Congratulations to Jacqui Isgar who has won the 12-month position of Assistant Principal - Student Curriculum and Leadership

Congratulations to Alison Warner who has won the 12-month position of Assistant Principal - Learner Wellbeing and Engagement

All the best to them both in their leadership role in 2024. I know they will continue to build upon the ongoing learning journey and support wellbeing across the school community.

2024 Materials & Services Charges

The school community was recently polled and the outcome of the poll was an unsuccessful result. This means that the community did not support to fully legally recover the 2024 school fees of $370.00.

The poll had a total of 266 votes (49.4% responded).  The results were:

YES vote: 130             NO vote: 130               Not Applicable votes:  6

For the poll to be successful the ‘yes’ vote would need to be 51% of the total votes received.

The unsuccessful result means the 2024 school fees invoice will have a total of $287.00 as the standard sum (compulsory to pay and legally recoverable) and a total of $83.00 which becomes a voluntary contribution equalling the total of $370.00 which will be invoiced to parents when school resumes in 2024.

Family Fun Night

Thank you all once again for supporting our Family Fun Night. We are thrilled to announce that it was a very successful FUN-draising event, resulting in a profit of $32,382 which has been allocated to the final payment for the Greenwith Campus Nature Play area!

2024 Pupil Free Days

To assist you with planning for the 2024 school year, we are pleased to share the pupil-free and school-closure days which have just been approved by the Governing Council:

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and happy holidays.

Best wishes,

Tanja, Dani, Jacqui and Alison
