2/3 have had an absolute blast trialling all available band instruments this week while 4/5/6 were on camp.  There were so many smiles and intriguing reactions to all the sensory elements required to play an instrument. Learning a musical instrument is not easy, BUT it gives your brain a complete workout and has so many academic benefits. We are hoping to have offers out in the coming week.  Again, these will need to be returned immediately so we can order instruments for your child. Keeping in mind that this is on average a $1000 purchase per student by the school, please ensure you are committed to ensuring that your child practices and remembers to bring their instrument to school before signing on to the program. For interest sake, 70 percent of students began by saying they wanted to play the drums. As much as we would love a drum line at school, this just won’t work in a school our size. Also noteworthy, many students ended up deciding on a different instrument after trials. We can’t wait to see where everyone lands to ensure we have a balanced band moving forward.
