Middle School News

Year 7 to 9

Wow what a year, I cannot believe we are about to enter our end of year activities program.  The year began with the transition from 6–7, 7-8 and 8–9 during the Advance Program in 2022 and now we have officially said goodbye to Year 9 2023 who have joined the Senior School as Year 10s and all other year levels have stepped up into their classes for 2024.

I want to thank all students for their hard work throughout the year.  I have enjoyed watching you all grow and flourish in both an academic sense but also as young people, leaders and members of the community.

2023 highlights include but are not limited to:

  • Camps including City Experience
  • Excursions
  • Incursions
  • Clubs
  • Interschool sports and carnivals
  • Values Assemblies
  • Fundraisers
  • Free dress days
  • Academic achievements across all subjects

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Look after each other, be kind to each other. Enjoy the company of your families and be grateful for everything we have throughout this holiday period. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed, motivated and curious day 1 in 2024.

Values Assemblies

This week we concluded the year with a number of Values Assemblies for each year level in Middle School. The focus of the assemblies was to acknowledge Values Award winners from Term 4 and for Year Level Coordinators to officially farewell their cohort and wish them a happy holiday and good luck for 2024 as they transition to the next year level.

Below is a list of all Value Award recipients for Term 4 2023.

Orientation Day 2023 Grade 6 to Year 7

Tuesday December 12 is a major milestone in our transition program for the 2024 Year 7 cohort. I would like to acknowledge and thank Tina Marchant, Leanne Kaufmann and the Year 7 team for their hard work and organisation leading up to this event. A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to make this day successful.

We look forward to having our new 2024 Year 7 students with us next Tuesday 12 December for what promises to be an exciting day.

Student Lunches

Just a reminder to parents that we are unable to deliver lunches to students during school time.  If your student has forgotten their lunch, it can be dropped in to the General Office but it is the student’s responsibility to come and collect it.

Hot food is not suitable to be left at the office.  PLEASE NOTE:- Take-away food is not allowed during school hours.

Under no circumstances are students to be ordering take-away food to be delivered to the College.

Student Compass ID/Library/PTV  Cards

Please remind all students that they must carry their Student Compass ID/Library/PTV  Cards with them at all times.

ALL students must sign in with their card at the Middle School Office when they are arriving late and sign out at the General Office when they are leaving early for any reason.

The cards are also used for any student photocopying that is done at school. The EDSC Student Compass ID/Library card can be used as ID for student PTV (Public Transport Victoria) travel. They are required to carry this card as student identification while travelling on public transport.

If a student loses their card, parents/guardians are able to re-order a replacement card via the Compass parent portal.
