Return of Instruments

Students who are hiring school musical instruments need to return them to their teacher after completing their Cycle 6 assessment or Orientation Day. All instruments need to be checked over by music staff for maintenance and stocktaking.

It may be possible to borrow an instrument for the school holidays, but this is on a case-by-case basis after the return and assessment of the instrument.

Students are strongly encouraged to purchase their own instrument after their first year of learning, as preference for school hire instruments goes to new Year 7 students. Perhaps consider a new instrument as a present. Teachers are happy to provide further information on quality brands so you don’t buy a lemon!

Jazz Night

Congratulations to the College Stage Band for their swinging performance on Wednesday 29 November.

Approximately 40 parents, family and friends were treated to an enthusiastic performance by the Stage Band, small group and duet items whilst sitting back and enjoying their dinner in The John Landy Centre.

Many thanks to Emily Fry for her help, all the members of the Stage Band, Rhylan 8L for his leadership of the Jazz Combo, Hannah 9E for her duet with Emily Fry, the Saxophone Quartet for their swinging rendition of Ain’t Misbehavin’ and to Cameron Campbell and Jasvinder Kaur for their support.

A special thank you to former EDSC Brass teacher David Palmer,  who started the ensemble last year and gave up his time to return to the school to perform with the group.
