Buon Natale e Felice Anno Nuovo

As always, this school year has been a very busy one but a very rewarding one for East Doncaster Secondary College.

We would like to congratulate all the students who entered the CIS Italian Junior Poetry Competition (Years 7 & 8) and the Dante Alighieri Poetry Recitation Competition (Years 9-12). This year we had large numbers participate, and we could not be prouder of all the students and their efforts.  We would like to acknowledge, once again, our place winners;

Gavin 7E CIS Junior Italian Poetry Competition-Year 7 Non Italian - Primo Premio  (1st)

Siena 8J - CIS Junior Italian Poetry Competition- Year 8 Non Italian - Secondo Premio – (2nd)

Diego 11JDante Alighieri Poetry Recitation Competition- Year 11 Non – Italian Finalist (1st)

We would like to say a very big thank you to our language assistant, Giada Pantana, who has been a very valuable member of our team this year. Her contributions and her assistance with the students, particularly the Year 12s, has been invaluable. Unfortunately, she leaves us and will return to Italy at the end of term. We wish her well in her future endeavours.

Next year, we look forward to our 2024 Italy Study Tour. 19 students will be taking part in the tour, visiting the beautiful ancient sights of Italy, and experiencing a week at our sister school in Novara. The students are so excited and can’t wait to share the Australian culture with their fellow Italian classmates. A huge thank you to Justin D’Andrea who has put in so much work to plan and organise the trip.

Finally, a message from all the Italian team, Joanne Kelly, Joyce Conidoni, Justin D’Andrea, Paola Malatesta and Katharine Graziano,  we would like to take this opportunity to wish all families un Buon Natale e un Felice Anno Nuovo. Buone Feste a tutti.
