Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

We thank you Lord, for this term. For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends. Guide us to be peacemakers in our family, and to always be conscious of You in our lives. Keep us safe in our activities and travels; give us ample rest and help to bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.

Amen

‘Watch This Space’ School Performance

This morning we had our matinee session of our Watch This Space school performance. It was wonderful to see the children performing in their costumes and enjoying the fruits of all the practice and hard work they have put in throughout the term, preparing for the big occasion. A big thank you to our artist in residence, Kristy McKenzie, who worked so hard with the teachers and staff to prepare the children. Thank you also to our amazing production team; Gemma, Emma, Kascha, Deb, Judy Cleve and Jodie who have done so much organizing behind the scenes to make the production possible. We are truly blessed to have such talented and dedicated teachers. Thank you also to you, the parents, for helping out with costumes where needed. We look forward to another great show this evening at 6.30.

We have noticed that this being such a big week and it being the end of term, that the children are extremely tired. Of course today is a busy day with both concerts. If you feel your child(ren) require a rest day at home tomorrow, please feel free to do so. There will be no prayer gathering or assembly tomorrow, so it will be a pretty quiet day given the week we have had.

RUOK Day

Today is RUOK Day. This is a day that encourages responsible public discussion of social isolation and its negative consequences. The key message is that social connectedness and positive help seeking can assist people in crisis and is the responsibility of the whole of community. Please see the link below for a special report and short video on RUOK Day from our School TV website.

Footy Colours Day

Next Friday will be the last day of term and children are invited to wear their favourite footy colours. They will also be served ‘fun food’ for lunch on this day, with school finishing at 2.15.

Last Newsletter

This will be the last newsletter for Term 3. On behalf of all the staff at St. Mary’s, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for a fantastic term. It has certainly been a very busy term with various sporting events, the whole school performance, sacramental program and ceremony, Book Week, excursions and our P-2 swimming program. Thus we look forward to a restful and relaxing break, ready for a great fourth term.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
