VOCABULARY

Persuasive

Expresses an opinion and tries to convince other people to join that opinion.

Opinion

A person's thoughts or feelings about something

Powerful words- modal verbs

Verbs that indicate likelihood, ability, permission or obligation. Words like: can/could. may/might. will/would.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Students to think about their opinions to:

-eating ice cream everyday

- having takeaway for dinner

-going to the park

-going to a friend's house

And ask them to think of good reasons why they should get to do those things
