Return of FriYAY Games
We are excited to reintroduce 'FriYAY Games' this year—our weekly outdoor lawn games open to everyone at the College. The response has been fantastic, with both students and staff eagerly participating in a variety of fun activities.
Giant Jenga, Chess, Lego, and Jumbo Connect Four have quickly become crowd favourites, attracting participants of all ages. These games are more than just a fun break—they play a vital role in enhancing the psychological, social, and emotional well-being of our students.
Taking a break from screens and enjoying time outdoors allows students to mentally recharge. Fresh air and physical activity help reduce stress, clear the mind, and lift spirits. Participating in games also boosts cognitive functions, improving focus and problem-solving skills.
These activities provide a platform for students to develop essential social skills like teamwork, communication, and cooperation. Whether winning or losing, students learn to manage their emotions, build resilience, and cultivate empathy. The inclusive nature of FriYAY Games ensures that everyone, regardless of athletic ability, can participate and feel a sense of belonging.
FriYAY Games foster a strong sense of community where students and staff come together, bridging gaps and strengthening relationships. These shared experiences contribute to a supportive environment where differences are embraced, promoting unity and school pride.
These outdoor activities offer a holistic approach to wellbeing, supporting mental health, emotional resilience, and social connections. They also instil valuable life skills while promoting inclusivity and unity. We encourage everyone to take part in this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, connect with others, and invest in our collective well-being. All students and staff are welcome, and we look forward to seeing you there!
