Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Individual Education Plans (IEPs) help ensure students can access the curriculum in a way that suits their unique learning needs. These plans typically involve classroom accommodations or curriculum adjustments.
For some students, simple modifications like extra time, rest breaks, or breaking tasks into smaller parts are enough to ensure they can keep up with their peers. However, other students may need more significant changes, such as a modified or reduced curriculum or a slower learning pace. The type of IEP provided depends on the student's needs, recommendations from allied health professionals, and consultations with support staff, while adhering to SCSA guidelines.
If your child has a diagnosed learning need, they may qualify for an IEP. These plans are updated every six months and shared with teachers via SEQTA to ensure ongoing support.
