Broader Horizons is a Year 9 Careers Program which provides students with a broader outlook and higher awareness of potential careers available within the local community. This year’s program will involve participating in three sessions throughout June. Year 9 students will be given the opportunity to participate in one of the following industry areas – Agriculture, Health, or Local Government. Prior to making a selection, students are encouraged to explore the wide variety of jobs that are available in all 3 of these Industries.
Students will be completing information forms, listening to speakers, etc. in their Advisory sessions in the following weeks. We have been so fortunate to have an active and enthusiastic team at our local LLEN to organise these opportunities.
When: Thursday 13 June
Who: Year 9s (2025 Year 10s) will participate in the Taster Day and all students currently enrolled in VET will attend their NORMAL classes.
What: Students will have the opportunity to listen to industry speakers, have a try of 3 VET subjects (a subject selection template will be sent out soon) & the last part of the day will be spent undertaking activities with NCLLEN staff.
Students they will need appropriate sturdy, covered footwear for the day.
In the next few days please keep a look out for the Course Guide, Taster subject template and details regarding lunch, where to meet, etc.
Looking forward to the day!
