Year 1 Maths
We love learning with hands on activities in maths. Our open task of starting at 10 on the calculator and working out what we can add to get to 20 was great fun. We had great success using the abacus to help us see our end target. What whiz kids we are!!
Guess The Lolly in the Jar!
Thank you to all that donated to the Guess the lolly in the Jar competition. We raised $334.65 for the Cancer Council.
The Winner of our competition with an exact guess is Willow Smith from 3R Congratulations!!
So proud of our Year 1 writers!
Some creative minds were busy during recess indoor activities last week!
Fun With Buddies!
We caught up with our buddies on Friday. Their task was to make a poster about something they had in common. After delving deep with questioning techniques, the topics they discovered were very diverse, ranging from squirrels and sport, art, books and food. The students were very creative in their poster designs and as you can see by the photos, highly engaged in their activity. What a great way to end an assessment week!

Year 1 Incursion
On Friday the 24th of May the Year 1 students had a very special incursion - Toys Over Time. This incursion links with our History topic this term, looking at and comparing objects from past to present.
Students had a fabulous time playing with all sorts of new and old toys and learning about the history of those toys.
In the incursion there were 5 different toy stations set up for students to interact with:
- Imagination Land
- Skills Land
- Construction Land
- Up and about Land
- Museum Land
Parents and carers if you look closely at the photos you may just see your favourite toy from when you were a child
