What's Been Happening?

Grade 3 News

   Maths 

We are learning to solve addition problems using different strategies such as the split strategy, algorithms, and compensation.

 Spelling                                                                                                                                             

We are learning about contractions. Which are two words put together and take some letters out to make one word.

 Inquiry                               

In Inquiry we are learning about special places in Australia like the Daintree Rainforest, Uluru and a lot of other places in Australia.

Interschool Sport

The Grade 5/6 students have just played their third round of interschool sport.  At St Cecilia's the students participate in Fully Loaded Softball, Soccer, Mixed Netball and Girl's Netball.  Every Thursday morning, we compete against a local primary school; for many students, this is the highlight of their week! We are really proud of all our students and the way they have fun, meet other students and display wonderful sporting spirit!  

We are also VERY appreciative of Chris Knott for helping with the netball teams; Teresa Galgani, who is the organiser extraordinaire and Caterina Cerrina for washing the soccer jerseys each week!  

Interschool sport is another way at St Cecilia's that we can 'walk the talk' with our leadership program.
