Principal's Welcome

Dear Families,
This term, the students have been engaged in many learning experiences around Science and how science is part of our everyday lives. One of the areas that students are covering is the Physical and Biological sciences. They have been learning about how we can take care of our world, what animals need to survive and the human impact that has occurred on animal habitats as well as the impact on our earth. In May 2015, Pope Francis published an article called Laudato Si. In this article, he sets out the steps that a person can take in the process of ecological conversion. The steps also include prayer, contemplation, learning more about nature, observing Sundays as a day of rest and reducing the amount of materials that we consume and use. It is a great reminder that we are all responsible for this beautiful earth that has been gifted to us. Through the big questions that our students are unpacking, our students are also learning about the importance of caring for the world around us. Pope Francis states that “The only future worth building includes everyone!”
We have our Yr P-3 camp experience afternoon later today and we can feel the excitement in the air! We can’t wait to share some stories with you!
Some Reminders
Pick Up Procedures
At times we have noticed parents coming into the school building wanting to speak to teachers. Please note that teachers have specific time allocated for meetings, phone calls, etc therefore cannot meet every night. If you would like to meet with a teacher to discuss your child, please email them to make an appointment. Please note that all year 3 and 4 students will be dismissed via the external classroom doors rather than through the shared space.
Burnleigh Drive
Thank you to the parents who have advised me that sometime over term 1, the street sign in Burnleigh Dve has changed, making it once again difficult for our parents to park their cars. I have taken a photo of the changed street sign and will be approaching the council once again to see why the change was made and why we weren’t advised about it. I will keep you posted regarding this information. In the meantime, please follow any signage so as to avoid a fine.
Have a wonderful week ahead.
