JOHN PAUL II GARDEN PROGRAM FEATURES IN EASTERN SHORE SUN

Recently, the Eastern Shore Sun newspaper published a feature story about our School Garden Program recognising the importance of teaching our students about growing fresh produce to support our school lunch program. It also provides students with the opportunity to learn important life skills. We have included a copy of this article.

PLANTING OUR WINTER CROPS

Over the past two weeks students from our classes have been busily planting out our gardens with cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, silverbeet, onion, to name but a few of the veggies planted. The children have helped prepare the garden beds by digging the soil over, adding manure and mulch. Then seedlings were then carefully planted.

STRAWBERRY PLANTS GALORE

We have so many strawberry runners that we have been able to pot up over 200 strawberry plants ready for Spring planting. We are hoping to offer some for sale to our school families.
