Principal's Message

Dear Parents and families, 

I am thrilled to announce that I have been successful in gaining the permanent principal position here at Rockley Public School. I am excited for the great things to come for our school in the upcoming terms and years, and I look forward to continuing our journey together as a community.

Athletics Carnival

Wednesday's Athletics Carnival was a cold but fun and successful day! Congratulations to all on your sportsmanship and enthusiasm shown throughout the day. 

Well done to Savannah, Troy, Sarah, Cooper, and Harrison who successfully placed in their events throughout the day. The District Athletics Carnival will take place on Friday, August 22. The Bathurst Small Schools district team will be announced shortly!

Swimming Intensives

The first of our swimming intensives was a hit, with the children enjoying the lessons and beginning the process of developing many skills. 

Continuing swimming lessons in winter is beneficial for many reasons:

• Builds essential water safety skills.
• Improves swimming technique and confidence.
• Keeps children active during the colder months.
• Provides a fun way to learn and socialise with peers.

School Reports

• This term we’re introducing updated school reports.
• The new format has been developed by the NSW Department of Education in response to feedback from parents and educators to make reports easier to read and understand.
• Your child’s report will still show their progress across all subject areas.
• Teacher comments will appear in English, mathematics and the general comment section, in line with department policy*.
• The general comment for Kindergarten also covers all other key learning areas including, creative arts, HSIE, PDHPE, and science and technology.
• A new achievement scale and descriptions are included to provide a clearer picture of your child’s progress.
• Parent–teacher interviews remain an important way to discuss your child’s progress and achievement in more detail.

A big thankyou to our wonderful P&C for the countless hours they spend organising & coordinating fundraisers for our school. The students and staff are extremely grateful for their generous support and donations throughout the year.
